Indra has once again cemented its position as a leader in EV innovation, receiving the Special Recognition (Company) award at the prestigious Electric Vehicle Innovation and Excellence Awards (EVIEs) 2024.
The EVIEs, often hailed as the “Oscars” of the EV industry, honour organisations that drive transformation and progress in the sector. Indra emerged victorious in a competitive shortlist that included renowned names like the AA and Greene King Pubs, underscoring its standout contributions to the EV and energy landscape.
The accolade was awarded for Indra's trailblazing work in bidirectional EV charging technology, a breakthrough innovation enabling electric vehicles to act as mobile energy hubs. Bidirectional charging allows EVs to store energy during off-peak periods and return it to the grid or power homes during high-demand times, representing a critical step toward a more sustainable energy ecosystem.
The award ceremony, held last night (14 November 2024) in London, highlighted Indra's role in shaping the future of energy. Judges commended the company for its unwavering commitment to advancing bidirectional technology, describing it as “a much-needed innovation for the future of the EV and energy ecosystem.”
This recognition adds to Indra’s impressive legacy of wins at the EVIEs, including winning Chargepoint Manufacturer of the Year at last year’s event and a Special Recognition: Under 30 Star award for founder Mike Schooling in 2019.
