Test & Certification Team Lead

We are looking for a Test & Certification Team Lead to join our award winning team to work on the development of our technology consumer products.

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Programme Manager, you will develop and lead the test and certification capability within the business, with key responsibilities including:

  • Technical leadership, mentoring and day to day management of the test and certification team

  • Ownership of test planning and execution across all products

  • Ownership of certification, including planning and collation of evidence, across all products

  • Work closely with the design teams to ensure applicable standards are being adhered to

  • Responsible for providing testing and certification subject matter expertise to both the wider development and production teams

  • Working to, developing and implementing processes in line with best practice and our quality management system, with a particular focus on the development of testing processes and results capture and retention

  • Performing other reasonable tasks in line with business requirements

Essential Skills:

  • Degree-qualified in Engineering discipline, with 5+ years related experience preferably leading a team

  • Experience in the following technical areas:

    • Power electronics

    • Product / sub assembly testing and certification

    • CE marking

    • IEC 61851

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment with limited supervision

  • Thorough understanding of the lifecycle, through life costs, configuration control, safety and environmental aspects of product development

  • Demonstrable experience of managing testing and certification of power electronics products

  • A proven track record of delivering technical solutions within challenging timescales

  • Ability to act as a mentor to the wider engineering team, advocating good test method and rigour

  • Champion safe working practices within the design process and the workplace

  • Knowledge of operating within an ISO 9001 quality system

Desirable Skills:

  • Understanding of CHAdeMO and CCS standards

  • A desire to be challenged and to contribute to the success of the business
