Electrical & Electronic Team Lead

We're looking for an outstanding Electrical & Electronic Team Lead to manage and grow our electrical & electronics team, ensuring industry best practices are adhered to as we continue to develop our technology consumer products.


  • Technical leadership, mentoring and day to day management of the electrical & electronics team

  • Ownership of electrical & electronic sub-system design process from requirements capture, through design and testing, to production readiness

  • Work closely with the programme management team ensuring electrical & electronics team task delivery against Time, Cost and Quality requirements

  • Responsible for providing electrical & electronic subject matter expertise to both the wider development and production teams

  • Working to, developing and implementing processes in line with best practice and our quality management system

  • Performing other reasonable tasks in line with business requirements

Essential Skills:

  • Degree-qualified in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or equivalent, with 5+ years related experience preferably leading a team

  • Experience in the following technical areas:

    • Power electronics

    • Electrical sub system design

    • IEE Wiring Regulations

    • PCB design

  • Product / sub assembly testing and certification

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment with limited supervision

  • Thorough understanding of the lifecycle, through life costs, configuration control, safety and environmental aspects of product development

  • Demonstrable experience of managing electrical & electronic sub-assembly development from requirements capture through options development, concept design, scheme design, detailed design and manufacture through to installation, testing and commissioning

  • A proven track record of delivering technical solutions within challenging timescales

  • Ability to act as a mentor to the electrical & electronics team promoting continuous improvement and technical innovation

  • Champion safe working practices within the design process and the workplace

  • Knowledge of operating within an ISO 9001 quality system

Desirable Skills:

  • Good understanding of engineering project financial reporting and forecasting

  • A desire to be challenged and to contribute to the success of the business
